OMEGA Thermo Products Bayonet & Suction Heaters are heat transfer assemblies designed for heating process vessels, tanks, and recirculating systems where controlled temperature support is required.
Bayonet heaters are installed through the side entry of a tank using a mounting flange, allowing the heater to be inserted into or removed from the vessel as needed. This configuration supports natural convection circulation of the fluid being heated and provides an alternative to direct steam sparging in applicable process heating environments.

Suction heaters use a similar manufacturing approach but include a four-sided sealed shroud around the plates with an opening at the far end. As liquid is pumped from the tank, it passes over the plates and is heated or cooled before leaving through the outlet flange connected to the mounting flange.
OMEGA identifies steam, hot oil, and hot water as possible heating mediums, with viscous tank fluids such as fuel oil, heavy fuel oil, crude oil, heavy crude oil, asphalt, maple syrup, and molasses listed as example fluid applications.
Bayonet and suction heaters are constructed from stainless steel and other alloys, with product variations dependent on the application requirements.
