Process Controls Corporation - Reotemp

Reotemp RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) are electrical temperature sensors that determine temperature by measuring predictable changes in electrical resistance.

Most modern industrial Reotemp RTDs use platinum as the resistive element, with nickel and copper types also available for legacy and specialized sensor requirements.

Reotemp offers RTDs in multiple sensor, assembly, and wiring configurations for a range of temperature measurement requirements.

Standard and extended temperature ranges are available, along with multiple platinum RTD tolerance classes and optional Hi-Accuracy™ and Hi-Vibe™ constructions on applicable sensors.

Process Controls Corporation - Reotemp Resistance Temperature Detectors

Key Characteristics

  • Platinum RTDs available in Class B, Class A, Class AA, and 1/10 B tolerance classes, with tolerances defined according to IEC 60751 and ASTM E1137
  • 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire configurations available for different lead-wire compensation and measurement requirements
  • Standard RTD operating range of -328°F to 400°F (-200°C to 204°C), with extended-temperature versions available to 1112°F (600°C)
  • Hi-Accuracy™ option available on many Reotemp RTD sensors for applications requiring increased sensor-specific accuracy
  • Hi-Vibe™ construction available on many RTD sensors to reinforce the sensor for high-vibration environments

Ideal Applications

  • Industrial temperature measurement using resistance-based sensing
  • Low-temperature measurement where RTD accuracy and stability are important
  • Applications requiring 3-wire or 4-wire lead resistance compensation
