Gas chromatography, often called GC, is an analytical technique used to separate, identify, and measure the individual chemical components within a mixture. It is commonly used for gases and volatile or semi-volatile compounds that can be vaporized without breaking down, including many organic chemicals.
By separating compounds as they move through a chromatography column, GC helps laboratories evaluate sample composition, detect impurities, and support quality control, research, and process-related testing.
