Varec Hybrid Tank Gauges combine tank level, temperature, and pressure instrumentation to support both volume-based and mass-based inventory measurement.
Depending on the stored product and measurement requirements, the system may incorporate a radar or servo tank gauge with temperature instrumentation and one or more HART® pressure sensors.

Measurement data may be integrated through the 4590 TSM, which performs hybrid calculations at the tank side and transfers information to the control-room system.
Alternatively, FuelsManager® can perform hybrid calculations using measurement data supplied by a radar or servo gauging system and a pressure device.
Key Characteristics
- Combines direct level measurement with temperature and hydrostatic pressure inputs
- Supports radar- or servo-based level-gauging configurations
- Integrates level, temperature, and HART® pressure instrumentation through the 4590 TSM
- Uses measured tank data to calculate temperature-compensated volume, mass, and density
- Supports tank-side calculations or FuelsManager®-based hybrid calculations
- Transfers measured and calculated tank data to the control-room system when configured with the 4590 TSM
Ideal Applications
- Combining volume-based and mass-based tank inventory measurements
- Calculating product density using measured level and pressure data
