The Badger Meter FilterSmart Backwash Monitor is a gravity filter monitoring system designed to measure media expansion and wash-water turbidity during backwash cycles.

Combining underwater ultrasonic level sensing with turbidity measurement provides operators with trend data for evaluating filter behavior throughout the cleaning process.

Installed near the top of the gravity filter below the wash trough, the system tracks media elevation and the condition of the wash water as it exits the filter.
